There's a gas station near my house that has had a 60's (probably 1965, the picture above isn't the one in question), Mustang (same color as above). It's just been sitting there for years. Recently, theres also been another car next to it, which has been sitting there for as long as this mustang has been which got a for sale sign on it. I want to ask the attendant if the mustang is for sale. However, I dont know how much it's worth. What would you pay for it? (keep in mind, the paint is fading, theres probably rust because it's been sitting outside on the grass, and it probably hasn't run in a couple of years).

How would you try to negotiate it and try to get it as cheap as possible?

If it's a V8 (#'s matching) and is drivable maybe $12,000.

got to know much more about it before putting a number. Get deets and some pictures and we can help you further on the value...not saying it is going to be accurate but a whole lot better than not knowing engine, tranny, amount of rust, options

Old Mustangs are generally way over priced. I love them and wanted to buy one as a first car (probably not the best idea) and they were just so expensive for crap. Ended up buying a 1971 BMW 2k2 instead. Honestly something like the above photo should be $8-12k, but in reality if it's a nice example they can easily be found for around $20. If the one in question isn't in the best of shape and shows rust, I would offer $6-8. If you can get it for that you will find a great deal of things that could be repaired, so it's best to not spend all your money on just the car. Mustang's especially, since they are so customizable.
